Summary:Background and Objective: Road traffic accidents are a major public health problem in world. Iran ranks as one of the highest road traffic mortality and morbidity rates. This research aims to determine epidemiology of road traffic accident victims in Qom. Methods: In this descriptive study, road traffic accident which reported to law medicine center and emergency department in one year period were assessed. Samples were selected using census method. Data were collected using questionarrie.Demographic charactristics of victims time of accident type of injuries were recorded.Data analyzed by descriptive statistic.Analysis performed using spss soft ware. Result: There were 611 road traffic accident cases including 298 deaths in survey.Of the total injuries, 48/1% occured in age of 19-36 year .Majority of injuried victims (77/9%) were male.Head trauma (66/1%) and multiple trauma (29/1%) were the most injury.The highest number of accidents (35/6%) were observed in Qom-Tehran axis.There was some increases in road traffic accident in the month of farvardin(29/1%). The peake of time for accidents was summer (31/2%) and atumn(28%). Conclusion: Based on finding emphasize on special police´ performance in Qom-Tehran axis for decrease accidents in crowded roads and holiday is been suggested.So suppling emergency care to decrease in mortality is necessary.
