Description
Summary:This article presents two Aljamiado manuscripts (nº 614 and 1944), kept in the Algerian national library. Their main interest lies in the fact that they are the sole exemplars held in Northern Africa. Although their existence has been known for more than a century, the references to theses volumes from the researchers have been scarce and most of the time deficient. In addition, to complete a review of the diverse existing catalogues I propose a detailed codicological description to offer a more accurate knowledge of this Morisco collection in the Maghrib. Moreover, I deal with these two codices’ trajectory, from their composition likely in Aragon, to their final deposit in this Algerian library.
