Description
Summary:This text outlines how mediatization has enabled religion to redefine its boundaries between the public and the private. Drawing mainly on bibliographical research, supported by empirical studies, the argument unfolds in three main aspects: (1) the communication dimension of religion itself as a prerrogative of its presence in public space; (20 the shifting of mediatized religion between public and private from the point of view of secularization; (3) the mediatized visibility of religion as a strategy to thrive on public affairs. Finally, the paper assets a critical reflection on the place of religion in public discussions.
