Summary:This article aims to identify the physical and cognitive characteristics of the aging people and relate them to implications in the smartphone interface design so that improvements in usability make it the most affordable handset. The information were based on scientific articles collected through an unsystematic literature review on online scientific databases. The results were identified aging characteristics that interfere with the interaction interface smartphone. From this information we discuss what are the foundations of accessibility and usability that should be considered in the development of mobile smartphone type devices interface for the elderly users.
