The problem addressed in this research is that if the communitarian paradigm is a conceptual framework consistent with the assumptions of theories of social capital. The answer is positive, considering that the thesis of the balance of the three spheres rejects the unilateral emphasis on the coercive power of the state and the self-regulation of the market, and provides a central role to the community as a space of creation and recreation of the values that guide life in society. The method is deductive and the research technique is a review of the aliterature. http://seer.ufrgs.br/index.php/debates/article/view/54911/34730CommunitarianismSocial CapitalStateCommunityMarket
