Sanguinarine and its Electropolymerization onto Indium Tin Oxide as a Mediator for Biosensing

Sanguinarine (SA) is a nitrogen-containing an alkaloid, derived from plants. The electrochemical oxidation behavior of SA onto solid substrate (ITO) and its formation of redox active electropolymerized polymer films have been reported. The films were prepared and characterized by Cyclic Voltammetry...

The films were prepared and characterized by Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) technique in various solution containing electrolyte and no electrolyte. In in vitro study of SA and its interaction with ds-DNA was performed in this communications suggesting intercalation. The intercalated molecules are very important for biomedical fields like cancer chemotherapy. Besides this, sanguinarine may be used as mediator in the development of biosensor (genosensor) to enhance the hybridization signal events. http://www.sensorsportal.com/HTML/DIGEST/june_09/P_449.pdfSanguinarinedsDNACyclic voltammetryUV-VIS absorptionMetabolite
