L’incertitude professionnelle contre la rationalisation scolaire

By comparing the functioning of three drama schools, two in France and one in Germany (i.e. cours Florent and Conservatoire National Supérieur d’Art Dramatique in Paris and Hochschule für Schauspielkunst “Ernst Busch” in Berlin), we aim at demonstrating that the prospect of a stabilized professional insertion for students into the theatrical field is a fundamental factor to ensure both the autonomy of the taught discipline and its evaluation during the education process. Consequently, the legitimisation of schools, as a place where one acquires rationalised professional skills, or, on the contrary, their lack of credit in favour of learning through experience, depends probably less on the artistic nature of the education provided than on the influence of labour market regulations upon school organization.
