Description
Summary:This article is part of a collective research project on the acceptability of harm reduction tools in prisons. After a description of the different stages of the ethnographic survey conducted at the Baumettes prison in Marseille, I examine the place given to harm reduction in prison. Introducing harm reduction tools implies acknowledging the existence of illicit practices within the prison - drug use and sexuality. Fundamentally, harm reduction lies at the crossroads between the paradoxical missions carried out by the prison institution : of control and rehabilitation.
