Summary:Mark Brayne is the director for Europe of the Dart Centre for Journalism and Trauma. He served for 30 years as foreign correspondent and senior editor for Reuters and the BBC World Service, working in Moscow, East and West Berlin, Vienna, Beiing and London. He retrained in the 1990s as a psychotherapist, and is now a trainer and consultant in the feld of journalism and trauma. In this text, he speaks of the importance of giving specifc formation and psychosocial support to journalists covering traumatic events, namely those ocurring in foreign cultural contexts.
