This article analyzes an unpublished novel, written by an anti-Franco guerrilla fighter belonging to the Agrupacion Guerrillera de Levante y Aragón during his stay in the maquis. The novel, entitled ¡Tortura! is both an example of popular and proletarian writing, in the vein of the literature popularized by collections such as La novela ideal, and a testimony to the experience of the anti-Franco guerrillas, recounted in the heat of the moment. The reading and analysis of this exceptional document allows us to access the subjectivity of an anti-Franco guerrilla through the filter of literary fiction.
