The article is devoted to the analysis of the tourism sector of the Czech Republic and the role of Russia. The author evaluates the importance of tourism for the Czech economy and provides forecasts for its further development. Special attention is paid to the transformation of the Russian positions in the tourism sector of the Czech Republic, especially in the connection with the changed political and economic conditions after 2014. There was a sharp decline in tourist flow from Russia and the financial losses of the Czech side associated with it. The author points out the factors determining importance of the Czech destination for Russian tourists. It also highlights the continuing trend of increasing importance of developing markets for the tourism sector of the Czech Republic, to which the Czech side refers not only Russia, but also China and South Korea
