Summary:The main objective of the paper is to show some of the techniques used by de the Mexican government during a social protest, not only to control the group that makes such collective action but to establish self-control and surveillance mechanisms to the different organizations and levels of government itself. In this sense, the paper analyzes the central role that knowledge have in the operation of the mechanisms of power. Specifically analyze the role that performance the Federal Bureau of Security (Dirección Federal de Seguridad) as a fundamental tool for the construction and consolidation of the modern Mexican state. The paper analyzes the reports of the Federal Bureau of Security on social protest known as the Pacto Ribereño in Tabasco, Mexico.
