Summary: | A 45-year-old, obese and premenopausal female presented with
abnormal uterine bleeding. On histopathological examination
and immunohistochemistry, synchronous serous carcinoma of
the endometrium and bilateral ovaries was diagnosed. There is
paucity of literature on the occurrence of synchronous serous
carcinoma of the endometrium and bilateral ovaries. It is important
to differentiate independent primary tumours from metastasis
because each carries a different prognosis and the clinical
management also differs. |
