Summary:This article is devoted to changes in the constitution of Thailand in 1997. These institutional reforms were crucial, as they radically changed the political and institutional landscape of the country. The reforms provided new opportunities and incentives for politicians,who skillfully took advantage of Thaksin Shinawatra and his party "Thai Rak Thai". Withthe help of key reforms, T. Shinawatra's power and his party were strengthened in relation to partners, coalitions and inner-party factions.
