| Summary: | The article considers the study of the synonymy phenomenon in English terminological field of “animal diseases”. The author highlights and analyses the main types of synonymy in the examined terminology and characterises structural features of terminological synonymic rows. The article also provides a detailed analysis of absolute/relative synonyms. It discovers that terms with different structure form synonymous relations. These terms are mainly one-word and two-component terms, and synonyms represented by terms and corresponding abbreviations or eponyms. |
