Description
Summary:This research seeks to delve into a problem that has been affecting Spanish society for a long time: the decline of the poetic genre versus the narrative in reader tastes. Why is it preferred, sold and read less poetry than narrative? Why is poetic a minority genre? Trying to answer these questions leads to this other, which will be the central axis of this research: Can you establish connections between this fact and the way in which poetry is addressed in the first cycle of High School? Various manuals of this educational stage and of different periods corresponding to different educational laws will be analyzed. The percentage of the poetic text, the authors being treated and the literary currents to which each one belongs, will be taken into account.  To conclude, there will be proposals for improvement that can be carried out in classrooms in order to arouse the interest of children and young people for the lyric, given their undoubted benefits.
