Description
Summary:This article presents a historiographical and sociological reflection on the place of women in the journal Annales from the 1930s to the present. The analysis focuses on three aspects: the publication of articles written by women in the journal; the relations between men and women in the context of editorial work carried out at the journal itself; and the place accorded by the Annales to themes relating to the history of women and gender. Ultimately, the article seeks to demonstrate the importance of the notion of gender when it comes to writing the intellectual and social history of historical research itself. It also proposes a reflexive interrogation of the underlying scientific and political implications of this approach for the work of the journal today.
