Summary:This article deals with the discussion and set an explaining value of the findings of the public opinion survey related to the American countries’ Armed Forces, based on the results of the 2104’ survey, but also considering the 2012 results, both carried out by the Vanderbilt University – with the support of the United States Agency for International Development – through the Latin America Public Opinion Project (LAPOP). The aim is to value the perception of confidence and its implications, study how the efficiency is valued and what is the general thought regarding the employment of the armed forces fi fighting organized crime and violence. At the same time, it analyses the results about the general society confidence of the Latin-American countries regarding the United States Armed Forces and its will to use them in a cooperative way with the Armed Forces of these countries in order to improve the security levels.
