| Summary: | The article deals with the investigation of “colour” semantics as an implicit potential of linguistic sign. The meaning structure of the analyzed lexemes is studied with the help of contextual method; the conclusions are supported by the association dictionaries data. The studied semantics of the lexemes, which are not referred to the traditional colour terms, allowed us to conclude that colour terms implicit potential, being a non-marked part of a semantic content of the word, is inferred from and defined by context, revealing itself as latent, mediating factor. |
