The adaptation of literary works, romance in this case, into the film caused a lot of changes. Some main elements such as plot, setting, and characterization experience significant changes. This is caused by things related to the purpose of the film itself, which emphasizes more on the commercial side. This study aims to find changes in the elements of the plot, setting, and characterization of the literary media to the film caused by the adaptation or ecranization. Material objects in this study are roman l'Élégance du Hérisson by Muriel Barbery and Film Le Hérisson by Mona Achache. While the formal object in this study is the theory of Ecranization. The method used in this research is descriptive analytic method. Based on the analysis conducted on the material objects above produced 16 shrinkages, 13 additions, and 8 variations in the flow analysis. Then in the background analysis there are changes in the form of 5 collapse and 1 variation, in this case the background does not experience an increase because events occur only around the apartment, such as those contained in the romance. Finally, in the character analysis there are 5 downsizing, 1 addition, and 2 variations.
