Description
Summary:Nb/Nb5Si3 superalloy has the most potential in the application of future high temperature structures. Realization of microstructure lamination for this material is a new material design and preparation method. Characteristics and prevailing preparation technologies of Nb/Nb5Si3 microlaminate, including hot pressing, plasma spaying, magnetic sputtering and electron beam physical vapor deposition (EB-PVD) are reviewed. It is pointed out that EB-PVD is a promising technology for producing Nb/Nb5Si3 microlaminate from the engineering application point of view. Structure and function compound, nano-laminating and toughening are the developing directions in the future electron beam physical vapor deposited Nb/Nb5Si3 microlaminate field.
