Characteristics and prevailing preparation technologies of Nb/Nb<sub>5</sub>Si<sub>3</sub> microlaminate, including hot pressing, plasma spaying, magnetic sputtering and electron beam physical vapor deposition (EB-PVD) are reviewed. It is pointed out that EB-PVD is a promising technology for producing Nb/Nb<sub>5</sub>Si<sub>3</sub> microlaminate from the engineering application point of view.
