Description
Summary:The aim of this article is to shed light on the evolution of communication tools, places, and times in which the communication takes place and to ask how this revolution is modifying the very concepts of access and exclusion in relation to the idea of wall. The attempt is to delineate the characteristics of these changes in a dialectical perspective. Firstly, it will be highlighted the opportunities related to the possibility of providing tools to transcend physical and geographical barriers to connect social groups beyond the concepts of walls and proximity. Secondly, we will analyse the new forms of social exclusion, cultural and relational impoverishment that take on the role of semantic blocks and therefore represent new “structures” of inaccessibility typical of the digital society.
