Description
Summary:The territory of Lyon, second city of France, is almost totally urbanized. It is nevertheless possible to value it’s natural heritage and to reveal the relationship between the past inhabitants and their natural environment. This action combine the reading of reliefs, the knowledge of the outcrops as well as the the current processes and the past morphogenic events. The toponymy and the building materials allow us to understand the role of natural environment in the evereryday life of the inhabitants. Several types of public promotion have been initiated. A GIS used for the valuation of these sites and events is presented.
