Prioritization of Green Buildings Criteria

Abstract Construction industry is the foundation of countries development and because of its extent and Tight Relationship to natural resources, pollutants and Health issues, it has been specially considered as an important environmental issue. The aim of this study is to identify and prioritize the criteria of green building in the metropolises. In this study, the criteria and sub criteria of green building were extracted through library research, Internet search, interview with specialists and Delphi model and then was weighted and prioritized using Analytic Network Process (ANP) and Super Decision Software. The findings of this study led to the extraction of 8 main criteria and 26 sub-criteria. The results showed that education and culture, energy management, water management, waste management, wastewater management, materials, building indoor quality and environmental quality are the most important criterion for green buildings respectively. Preparing This Criteria and the ways of their utilizations, will enable city managers to take steps towards achieving a sustainable and green city and would cause to exclusion of green buildings selection by non-specialists and personal tastes.
