| Summary: | Governments, industry and consumers are the active agents of the elec- trical sector. The maintenance of this sector is guaranteed by the tariff applied to the supply of electricity, monthly collected by the electricity utility. The prediction and monitoring of the monthly collected value (i.e., return costs and generating surpluses for investments) are essential for the strategic alignment of the sector with investors. The article proposes the use of statistical methods as a tool to analyze the cash flow of the utility. The results show that the statistical methods are quite important in help- ing the company to model and quantify the uncertainties associated to its process of decision making. |
