News stories were obtained from a media centre. 1234 documents were divided into four general and twenty-one subcategories by using correlation analysis. The correlation between categories was examined using Pearson correlation. Some of the results of the study obtained are as follows.a. The analysis revealed that the news items with the highest number were related to earthquakes.b. The news items mostly had news content. Besides this, there were educational and magazine news about natural disasters.c. The news reports about natural disasters in the Turkish printed media are presented to the reader in the inner pages. However, the news concerning natural disasters causing considerable loss of lives and properties in Turkey mostly makes headlines and cover a half or the three-thirds of the front page.d.
