Description
Summary:New metal complexes derived from the reaction of N-benzoyl-N-glycylthiourea (BGH) with Cu(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II) and Fe(III) chloride and/or acetate salts have been synthesized. The products were characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductivities, spectral (IR, UV–vis., mass, 1H NMR and 13C NMR), thermal (TGA, DTG) analyses and magnetic measurements. The IR spectra of the mono- and binuclear complexes have been discussed. The structure of the Zn(II) complex is suggested on the basis of spectral (IR, UV, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and mass) studies. The geometries of the isolated solid complexes have been suggested on the basis of magnetic and spectral measurements. Also, the data of thermal analysis (TGA) suggests the amounts of solvents existing inside and/or outside the coordination sphere and the mechanism of decomposition for the metal complexes. Finally, the results of biological activity promised to be effective in tumors treatment.
