Este artigo estuda o impacto das imagens dos tupinambás, de Theodoro de Bry (século XVI), na pintura histórica do século XIX, mais especificamente na tela a óleo intitulada Nóbrega e seus companheiros, de 1843, obra do profesor de desenho anatômico da Academia Imperial de Belas Artes do Rio de Janeiro, Joaquim Corte Real.<br>The article studies the impact of the Tupinambá images, by Theodoro de Bry's (XVI Century), in the historical painting of the XIX century, mainly in the canvas "Nóbrega e seus companheiros" (1843), painted by Joaquím Corte Real. Corte Real was an anatomical drawing professor of the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts in Rio de Janeiro.
