Description
Summary:The water quality of the Tejo River was evaluated in three monitoring sections during the months of May, June and July 2014, through the use of aquatic macroinvertebrates and physicochemical parameters, subsequently evaluated with the use of the Biological Monitoring Working Party (BMWP ), ICA-NSF and diversity indices for each unit of study. The ecological indices of diversity, wealth and equity were relatively low, confirming moderately polluted waters. According to the BMWP, it produced acceptable water, slightly contaminated or pollution effects are evidenced, which was confirmed when comparing with the ICA-NSF, where a medium quality is evidenced in each of the evaluated sections.
