Summary:The aim of this paper is to examine the distribution of the mid- and long-range commercial structure in Mexico City´s Metropolitan Area. The study includes fixed markets (public markets and commercial concentrations), mobile markets (tianguis and "sobre ruedas"), Conasupo shops, and shopping centers. The structure, concentration and diversification of the commercial apparatus in the rings that constitute the Mexico City´s Metropolitan Area are emphasized.
