Description
Summary:One of the urgent problems of Prosthetic Dentistry is a high prevalence of medium and large dentition defects among middle-aged and older and the availability of appropriate changes on the part of the tooth-jaw system, particular in occlusive disorders, secondary tooth-jaw deformations and diseases of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and masticatory muscles. The aim of investigation. To study the clinical features and condition of the tooth-jaw system in patients with combined medium and large dental defects, tooth-jaw deformations and diseases of the temporomandibular joint. Materials and methods of investigation. It was conducted the study of clinical features in 152 patients with medium and large dental defects combined with dentition deformations and functional disorders of the temporomandibular joint. Special attention is paid to the nature of the displacement of the mandible in the sagittal, vertical and transversal movements using articulation system "Cadiax Compact". Results of investigation. We have established that 71.7% of the examined patients with medium and large dentition defects were found teeth and jaws deformations, among which dominated vertical form on the upper and lower jaws. It should be noted that patients with limited distal defects are characterized by a shift or tilt molars in the medial side, the nomination of teeth-antagonists in the vertical plane and slope teeth, limiting defect teeth on the medial side in a horizontal plane. Depending on the type of dentition defect, should be mentioned that the highest percentage of patients with a combination of TMJ dysfunction syndrome was discovered at presence unilateral distal unlimited defects of dentition - in 66.2% of patients with limited distal defects was discovered the syndrome of pain dysfunction in 64.3% of patients and in 62.2% of patients - with bilateral distal unlimited defects.
