Description
Summary:A modified entropy-based criterion for evaluating reliability of water distribution networks is presented in the paper. Design and hydraulic parameters, as well as failure probabilities for individual links, are considered. For this purpose, a new weighting factor is defined based on the proportion of total outflow at each node to the total network dissipated power. Another weighting factor is defined based on the relation between the flow rate of a link and the total flow rates in the network, to take into account the capacity of individual links, as compared to that of the overall network.
