Effect of long-term low-dose aspirin on hyphema during and after laser iridectomy

AIM: To evaluate the effects of long-term low-dose aspirin on intraoperative and preoperative hyphema of laser peripheral iridectomy(LPI).<p>METHODS: The included 63 cases(63 eyes)with primary angle closure glaucoma went to our hospital from January 2014 to June 2017 were divided into two groups: Group A was control group and Group B was study group, according to whether taken aspirin. The hyphema was compared between the two groups.<p>RESULTS: There was no significant difference between the two groups in intraoperative and postoperative hyphema(<i>P</i>>0.05). No serious hyphema occurred.<p>CONCLUSION: LPI can be performed safely without stopping aspirin.
