Summary:In 2009 six malting varieties of spring barley were registered in the Slovak Republic. All the studied varieties had the optimal level of proteolytic, amylolytic and cytolytic modification. The variety Donaris had extract on the level of 82.7% and wort composition on the level of 82.8 %. Eskobar had high extract content (83.0%) and apparent final attenuation achieved values of 82.6%. Extract of the variety Kangoo was on the level of 82.1% and apparent final attenuation was high (83.7%). Signora provided high extract content (83.8%) and wort composition was optimal (83.2%). Sladar provided high extract content (83.4%) and wort composition was favorable (82.7 %). Spilka had extract on the level of 82.4% and apparent final attenuation was 79.8%.
