Summary: | In recent years, the utilization of hybrid polymer matrix composite materials in many engineering fields has increasedtremendously. The present investigation is devoted on fabric-reinforced hybrid composite laminates with different volumefractions of the constituent materials; epoxy resin, plain-woven glass fabric, and textile satin fabric. Fracture toughness ofa material has immense importance in the determination of the resistance of the material to crack propagation. Hence thisarticle explores the findings of the experimentation on the compressive strength and fracture toughness of fabric-reinforcedlaminates with 0/90O & ± 45O orientation with five notch configurations. The fracture toughness has been found to increasecontinuously with increased volumes of glass fabric and it is less dependent on notch size upto certain limit. Data collectedduring experimentations are validated using analysis of variance (ANOVA) technique. Percentage contribution of each parameterwas evaluated using ANOVA technique with fiber content, orientation and notch size as input parameters, while theoutput parameter being the OHC strength of the laminate
