The gingival state was evaluated by means of the Silness y Löe gingival index, according to the classification of gingivitis, and that of oral higiene by the simplified Green and Vermillion index. As a result, 40.8% of the pregnant women was in the third trimester of their pregnancies, as well as a prevalence of light and moderate gingivitis, with 52.2 and 40.1%, respectively. Equally, in 93.0% of the cases, gum inflammation was localized and in 70.7% it was edematous, while, the poor oral hygiene was present in a high percentage of pregnant women, which was increased with the severity of the gingival disease and escolarity level.http://medisan.sld.cu/index.php/san/article/view/1856embarazadas, gingivitis, enfermedades periodontales, higiene bucal, clínicas odontológicas. |
