Description
Summary:This article presents new criteria for the design of contour blasting with decoupled loads for digging tunnels in pseudoplastic rocks. Theoretically, these criteria are based on the modeling of the tension field and deformations that occurs in a rocky environment, around the boreholes, when detonating a heavy-weight cord. By using these criteria, experimental results from other researchers were compared with pre-existing criteria and it was verified that they allow adjusting the patterns more quickly and, in general, obtaining better indicators of the drilling and blasting work in the tunnels digging.
