Box 5969, Safat 13109, KuwaitIn any country, seaports present the window to the world, especially for the state of Kuwait, where the origin and development of this country was explicitly related to the existence of seaports. The strategic location of Kuwait has significantly helped the country to rely heavily on maritime trade for its economy. The main commercial port in Kuwait is Shuwaikh port, which currently faces many problems. These problems include traffic congestion on the internal roads and roads surrounding the port causing delays in the arrival of trucks loaded with goods as well as delays in the return of empty containers to the port. Additionally, container storage at Shuwaikh port is insufficient causing a significant reduction in the ship traffic over the last few years. This work aimed to establish a logistics city that supports the port of Shuwaikh and improves its performance. The logistics city also organizes the flow of trucks and provides an integrated environment to support many surrounding companies. This will increase port efficiency, trade mobility, storage capacity, competitiveness, reduce traffic congestion on the public streets by constructing special roads for trucks, reducing handling time and developing an international logistics center.
