FOLATE CYCLE GENE POLYMORPHISM AND ENDOGENOUS PEPTIDES IN CHILDREN WITH COW’S MILK PROTEIN ALLERGY

Folate cycle gene polymorphisms and the levels of endogenous antimicrobial peptides and proteins in the blood and coprofiltrates were studied in 45 children aged 3 to 12 months with cow’s milk protein allergy. The polymorphic variants of the MTHFR, MTRR, and MTR genes were shown to be considered as...

The polymorphic variants of the MTHFR, MTRR, and MTR genes were shown to be considered as a risk factor for the development of allergy. There was a significant increase in the levels of zonulin, β-defensin 2, transthyretin, and eosinophil cationic protein in the coprofiltrates and in those of eotaxin, fatty acidbinding proteins, and membrane permeability-increasing protein in the serum (p<0.05). The finding can improve the diagnosis of the disease for a predictive purpose for the evaluation of the efficiency of performed therapy.https://www.ped-perinatology.ru/jour/article/view/426childrencow’s milk protein allergyfatty acid-binding proteinsmembrane permeability-increasing proteinfolate cycle geneseosinophil cationic proteinintestinal fatty acid-binding proteinliver fatty acid-binding proteinbactericidal/permeability-increasing protein
