Summary: | Luc Boltanski and Jacques Ranciere : these both authors aspire to built a genera critical theory, but according to different procedures. Despite an initial difference in the way they look at the word: one (Rancière) through the esthetical experience, the second (Boltanski) by questioning the overall framework of social reality construction, both seek to think the conditions for the emergence of "collective beings" original and individual and collective emancipation. The article do not seek to reach some dialogue between the authors, but to analyze some central points, taken from their productions. It concerns the role of the State institutions in the production of excessive knowledge and the confusion engendered by it in democratic regimes, as well as emancipatory social arrangements designed by the sociologist and philosopher to deconstruct social reality.
