Description
Summary:Colombia is a tropical country composed of a diverse topography; it has a wide variety of climates and a wide range of environmental goods and services that sustain national production and the multiplicity of uses of the territory. For this reason, environmental characteristics determine a fundamental axis in the process of establishment and execution of concepts that apply a sustainable development model. Now, by adopting this development model, the repercussions in the productive sector directly influence the environment and result in a direct interrelation with the nation's natural resources. However, bad policies and bad administrations have managed to plunge the country into an eventual environmental crisis. This article explores the most relevant shortcomings in terms of environmental policy and proposes a series of strategies according to future challenges that may arise in the country.
