A fifteen days old boy had a mass-like floating thumb, unlikely to frequently encountered. The family was advised to seek genetic counseling for accompanying abnormalities of the baby. Six days later, the baby showed up with the congested thumb. As an urgent treatment, the congested hypoplastic thumb was amputated under local anesthesia.
