ANÁLISE DA SIMILARIDADE DE SEQUÊNCIAS GÊNICAS DO ASCORBATO E DO LICOPENO EM ESPÉCIES VEGETAIS CULTIVADAS

Bioinformatics has made possible the identification and comparison of nucleotide sequences responsible for the production of antioxidants compounds in plants by using genomic public access databases and several applications able to align sequences from different species. The present study analyz...

The present study analyzed the nucleotide sequences of the genes for ascorbate and lycopene, known for its antioxidant action, in order to verify which species these substances have already been identified as well as to compare them through cladograms, observing the degree of similarity between the species and their phylogenetic relationships. It was built the representation of similarity matrix from the genes, which might reflect the evolution of the remaining characters. This report shows the viability of the methodology, and provides a basis for more advanced studies about the phylogenetic relationships among the species. http://revistas.unoeste.br/revistas/ojs/index.php/ce/article/view/1295/1429similaritiesantioxidantsbioinformaticsascorbatelycopene
