Summary:<p>Between 2008 and 2012, <em>in situ</em> observations were made on the coloration and diet of the snake <em>Erythrolamprus epinephelus albiventris</em> on a periurban area of Quito. Details on the chromatic variation of adults and juveniles and on predation events of tadpoles of the Andean marsupial frog <em>Gastrotheca riobambae</em> are presented herein. The importance of this species in the Andean trophic chain, its conservation status, and the importance to get more information on the populations of this snakes and its preys.</p>
