Pedagogical strategies in the development of leveling courses at the Francisco de Paula Santander Ocaña University

Based on the need to generate pedagogical strategies that contribute to the improvement and strengthening of the academic performance of the students of the Francisco de Paula Santander Ocaña University, it was proposed to the academic committee to carry out leveling courses for students admitted to pursue professional careers, with the objective of reinforcing the knowledge acquired by students during their basic training, especially taking into account that University Welfare develops a set of activities, plans, programs and projects that are oriented to physical, psycho-affective, spiritual, social and cultural and academic development, of the Students, Teachers, Administrative personnel and in general the University community; and that in the same way the academic Departments must contribute significantly to the integral formation of the students through the development of knowledge, competences and attitudes typical of a university professional; It is important to carry out activities that allow students to be stimulated through different academic activities that contribute to the improvement of each of the academic and well-being processes of the students, especially and in this case of those who enter the Institution for the first time, through some courses of leveling and introduction to University life in the different professional careers offered by the Institution, in order to achieve in a period of time, the leveling of them and introduce them in topics related to the curricular contents of the first semester of the selected career and their professional future. Especially those related to math, chemistry, biology and reading comprehension skills so that maximum academic performance can be achieved in their professional training.
