Description
Summary:The tiger mosquito Aedes albopictus, potential vector of diseases such as dengue, Chikungunya or Zika is present in about fifty metropolitan French departments. According to the vector control specialists, whereas strategies against mosquitoes are evolving towards alternatives to insecticides, the action of the populations seems to be more and more necessary in the fight against disease vectors. With the creation of a vector control intercommunal service, an urban conglomeration located in the Var has created a territorial plan against mosquitoes in partnership with local populations. The ethnography of the interactions between vector control agents and local populations shows how the urban conglomeration incites populations to collaborate in vector control, using seduction, power, control and responsibility sharing.
