Summary: | <p class="Resumen">José Antonio Portuondo Valdor (1911-1996) was one of the representative figures that had the University of Oriente. From their entrance to the house of high studies in the year of 1953, it developed a fruitful work like professor and investigator. Of these facets one has worked in the last years, nevertheless still they are not very well-known other edges of their chore in the university. The present work in fact has for objective to explain as the Dr. Portuondo fomented the international projection in the university institution, from its acting as educational before the victory of the Cuban Revolution and later on in so important responsibilities as the diplomacy and to occupy the parsonage of the University of Oriente.</p>
