Description
Summary:The text reflects on the obligation of the Nations of the inter-american human rights system to implement gender-sensitive educational and public health policies toachieving material equality and building gender democracy, based on the judgment of Gonzáles et al. Mexico (Campo Algodonero) by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. It mentions brief historical evolution of the moments of feminism in academia and inpractice throughout the 20th century to the present days, under the multidisciplinary approach of the social sciences. It starts from the paradigm of sustainable development, especially in the social aspect, and indicates the historical and normative evolution of the protection of the human right to gender equality at the global and inter-american levels. Although the detailing of public policies is not a specific object of this work, in the end, prospective reflections are elaborated about the legal effects arising from the judgment of the case based on the “Dialogue of Courts”. The analysis methodology is based on the use of bibliographic-jurisprudential-documentary study tools.
