| Summary: | The article proposes to disclose the presence of the old organological fund in the musical practices of the communities from the Carpathian-Danubian-Pontic areas, viewed through the prism of pictographic and material samples found in the reference area by archaeologists. The analyses undertaken are in support of the idea that musical instruments went with the musicianship, with a wide range of uses and functions in various spheres of the everyday life of the natives – army life, spiritual life, religious rites and popular ceremonies, rhythmic and melodic support of the
dance. Also, it can be inferred that for such practices they were not only claiming various musical instruments, but also large repertoires. The wide range of the aerophones in the organological heritage also shows the main community pursuits - agricultural work and shepherding - which has left its mark on the use of these tools.
